SUKI-MONO

Created for the Lichtsicht 7 Projection Triennale SUKI-MONO tries to explore the essence of projection - light that meets a surface - in multiple phases. Abstract black and white photograms were collaboratively created in the darkroom, using only the most mundane objects, materials and movement. Multiple exposures add an element of chance, resulting in images in which individual efforts and recognisable objects dissolve into dense patterns. Just occasionally, something familiar might be spotted.

Projected on the textured surface of the graduation tower, an inversion of the photographic process takes place, when the, formerly hidden, white parts of the animated negative photograms now light up the surface, while the exposed, dark parts hide it.
